Signed-in learning data is stored for the MethodLens account and cached on the active device. Clearing a browser and deleting an account are different controls, and both are available without emailing MethodLens.
1. What you can control here
An account may contain a verified email and identity key, display name, learning stage, policy acceptance record, up to 50 study cases, up to 500 learning events, and a Workpad draft. Study cases may contain the problem, first thought, optional answer, confidence, generated diagnosis, practice attempts, and level progress. The Workpad may contain typed work, drawing strokes, graph expressions, tables, and display preferences.
2. Inspect or export
Open your account workspace or guest workspace, choose Progress, and select Export anonymous event data. The downloaded JSON file contains summary counts and saved learning-event fields—including topic, clue, method, confidence, level, and outcome—but omits the account identifier. It does not include a name, email address, original problem, first thought, optional answer, or Workpad.
3. Erase local learning data
This removes MethodLens study cases, problem text, first thoughts, workpad drafts, calculator expressions, data tables, regression settings, learning-event history, and the anonymous session identifier saved in the active workspace. Other guest or account workspaces are not affected. It does not clear general browser history or hosting-provider logs.
This permanently clears this browser’s guest work only.
4. Delete an account and cloud data
Open Account Settings and use the permanent delete control. This deletes the MethodLens profile and its saved learning record, then logs the user out. It does not delete the separate identity account used to sign in.
5. Limits of these controls
Clearing the browser does not delete the account copy, which may sync back after login. Account deletion does not erase a file already downloaded, a copy the user chose to share, ordinary browser history, the separate sign-in identity account, or essential security and request logs held by providers.
6. Feedback reports and optional AI
A report you choose to submit stores its category, page, optional note, any context you explicitly include, timestamp and report reference. Reports are not linked to your account, so clearing browser data or deleting your account does not remove them. Keep the reference shown after sending and email the contact below to request deletion. Reports are retained until manually deleted; there is no automatic deletion schedule yet.
AI answers are not connected in this release. If enabled later, the tutor will ask you to acknowledge sharing before sending chat text to its provider. Chats will not automatically become saved learning records. Including a chat excerpt in a feedback report is a separate choice.
Research participation remains separate from ordinary account creation and error reports. There is no active research enrollment here.
